Paul “Buddy” Charette

Charette Motorsports Driver

Hometown: Woodstock, CT

Paul spent many years racing go-karts, at Pomfret Speedway beginning in 1992.  Due to his ability to race hard and finish well he was given the opportunity to race at many other tracks as well, including Charlotte, Thunder Road, Sugar Hill, and several tracks in New York.  After over 100 wins and 5 Series Championships Buddy decided he was ready to take it to the next level.

In 2000, he purchased his first Modified race car and began obtaining the knowledge that he needed to be a serious competitor. He spent many years working on the Whelen Modified Tour pit crews of Chuck Hossfeld and Todd Szegedy, where he was able to learn the "ins and outs" of a race car and a variety of race tracks. He also began searching for a group of people with enough knowledge to be able to support him in his racing career.

In 2006 everything came together for him.  After finding a crew with incredible amounts of knowledge in many different areas of cars and racing and purchasing a 2nd car, Paul decided 2006 was going to the first year Charette Motorsports was going to make noise.  AND HE DID! He finished the year sixth in the Sunoco Modified Division and was awarded the Most Improved Driver Award from Thompson International Speedway. Goals:

It is Buddy's goal to have the ability to run clean, competitive, and make his sponsors proud; while building a supportive fan base.  He would like to be able to obtain the financial backing to drive in the Whelen Modified Tour Series as well as other divisions of Nascar professional racing.
